FEELING GROOVY

 - OUR STORY

Hi! My name is Linda Perkins and I am the founder and owner of Feeling Groovy Art Parties. I began this business in the spring of 2021 as an alternative to local "paint 'n sip" art studios. 

I have always loved art. I have been sketching since I was in middle school, when I dreamed of being a fashion designer. As an adult, I worked in marketing management and consulting, where I oversaw the design of ads, marketing materials and websites. In 2019, however, I decided to pick up painting. From watercolor to gouache to acrylics, I took joy in learning new techniques and playing with color. It was not long before friends started to take notice of my paintings and I began selling my pieces.

One day, a friend asked if I could do a paint party for her book club. She wanted a custom design and she wanted to host the party at her home during the book club meeting. I realized that there was a need for more customized art parties that could be held in a variety of settings. As a non-drinker myself, I also knew there was a need for paint and craft parties that were fun and "groovy" regardless of whether or not the host was serving alcohol. I could put on my event planning hat and help to make my customers' event dreams come true, with the magic of art lessons included!
